Role objectives
GM&T is rapidly growing its capability and developing innovative products across multiple commodities within new markets. The Finance team plays a key part in supporting this drive for growth, and there are numerous opportunities for finance professionals in GM&T.
The Finance rotation will offer the chance to work across a number of our key teams and therefore gain a broad insight into the department. This will challenge an individual to understand not just the processes and responsibilities of each team but also the synergies with the rest of Finance and the Business. The rotation will provide exposure to the Finance Transformation, Financial Reporting, Financial Operations and Product Control teams.

We work closely with all areas of the business from front office through to back office and the solutions we deliver give you an opportunity to develop your knowledge of the energy trading domain.
Graduates will have the opportunity, through rotation and support of our teams, to actively experience and participate in the four core areas of finance:
- Finance Transformation
The key areas of focus for Finance Transformation are; assisting with strategic projects, BAU (incremental changes to systems), process reengineering, analysis for tactical development, helping to coordinate the Finance deliverables for the business plan implementation work, and improving the application of the values within the department and subsidiaries.
- Financial Reporting
The role of the Financial Reporting team is to prepare timely and accurate information, in accordance with IFRS, regarding the performance of GM&T, GGLNG and the Group as a whole for a wide variety of the Group's stakeholders, both internal and external. The team prepare the financial results for GM&T and GGLNG as well as consolidating financial results from all the Groupss companies worldwide to report on the Groupss overall performance.
- Financial Operations
The financial operations team is made up of two areas; Accounts Payable and Settlements. The Settlements team is responsible for ensuring that the billions of pounds of energy bought and sold is accurately confirmed, validated, invoiced and settled according to the individual contract terms in place. Such activity spans across multiple currencies form the euro to the yen, as well as multi commodities, including gas, power, carbon, storage, LNG, oil, biomass, capacity and financial trades, spanning varying timescales, from prompt to twenty year time horizon. Accounts Payable is part of the Finance function and is responsible for processing payments to our suppliers in a controlled, effective and efficient manner in line with Gazprom's policies and procedures.
- Product Control
Product Control is one of Finance's newest teams and has responsibility for the following areas: Production and validation of all daily P&L, position and exposure reports on an economic and IFRS basis. Validation of all month end and year end results within Financial Reporting at a gross margin level. Review and validation of new products, markets etc from a valuation and reporting perspective. This entails working closely with Risk, Front Office and Technical Accounting. Product Control is a global team, acting as a centre of expertise on the products that GMT trade.
